Remembered Today:

British and Imperial SONS in SERVICE pins

Does anyone have scans or detailed information on the private Sons in Service pins that were produced and for sale in Canada, the United States and presumably in Great Britain(and probably elsewhere as well)?

I have in my own collection enamelled small pins with one or more maple leaves (each leaf representing a son) - green leaf on white background in blue rectangular border with red trim. I also have OVER THERE with one or more maple leaves.

I have seen references to some families who had 9 or even 10 sons in the servivce and of course I know of the Silver Cross mother who had 11 sons (5 were killed) from Canada in ww1.

Thanks for any illustrations, scans, references, data!

Perhaps someone could scan some jewelleries catalogues for us?

John

Sorry but my images are TOO big and I have had difficulties in uploading to the forum. ALSO my scanner is not available and will not be for a while!
