Kate Wills Posted 23 November , 2006 Share Posted 23 November , 2006 Can anyone please tell me which battalions of the Manchesters were serving in the Somme sector on 12 May 1917? I have a postcard depicting "ex-Pte Chandon", and printed above his photo "wounded on the Somme May 12th 1917. Now discharged after 15 months in hospital and 10 operations" and pencilled on the back "2nd turn at the Regent Theatre March 1919". The MICs contain no-one named Chandon (perhaps his stage name was inspired by a bottle of bubbly).
