Post war re-enlistment. What was "D Section"?

Hi Pals

When a soldier re-enlisted into D Section, was this the full time Regulars, Territorials or ... ?

It was one of three sections of the Army Reserve; that is, regular reserve. The others were Sections A and B. Why no C? No idea!

There was previously a C, and I mean to research it one day.

D was for those who voluntarily extended their regular reserve commitment for a further 4 years, but there had to be continuity. Frank Richards a famous example.

6d a day paid quarterly, a marvellous lump sum in those days.
