Chris_Baker Posted 8 March , 2009 Share Posted 8 March , 2009 A rather old thread I just found while Googling. I am trying to find which British town adopted St Omer. This took place in 1928 as a commemorative medal was struck to mark the occasion.
CGM Posted 8 March , 2009 Share Posted 8 March , 2009 Try Deal (Dover). Although twinned with St Omer I don't know when this happened. CGM
Chris_Baker Posted 8 March , 2009 Share Posted 8 March , 2009 I think that's a post WW2 twinning. Might have an older connection, I guess.
Alan Tucker Posted 8 March , 2009 Share Posted 8 March , 2009 This is the Pavilion de Birmingham in Albert -almshouses for the elderly - built with money raised in Birmingham. The foundation stone was laid by the Lord Mayor of Birmingham on October 1926. The Birmingham coat of arms can be seen at first floor level. It is located a couple of streets behind the Mairie.See my article on the Birmingham-Albert link in Stand To April/May 2008.
