Very basically.....

Herbert Stork enlisted on the 22.7.1916 and served overseas with the Lincolnshire regt. as a Private, service no. 28822.

Subsequently medically downgraded?, maybe wounds? and transferred to Labour Corps as Private, service no. 9158.

Discharged 17.5.1918 from Labour Corps, Northern Command due to (S)ickness.

Para 2.a.i. a.o. 265/17 indicates that his discharge and award of he SWB was "After service overseas in the armed Forces of the Crown, on account of disablement or ill-health caused otherwise than by misconduct"

Hope this helps.

Steve
