I've got a MIC of a

Pte William Fenney

Royal Fusiliers

GS/18773

can anyone tell me what the GS prefix to his number indicates, and will the medal rolls give his battallion as the MIC doesn't.

thanks

Dave

Dave

GS = General Service, i.e. service for the duration of the war only.

Royal Fusilier Medal Rolls are some of the best, they will give battalion details and dates served overseas.

Hope this helps.
