hi all,

a while ago i posted a couple of photo's of family members, these were identified as the west kent and the sussex regts.i thought originally they were the same man, now i think the one in the sussex uniform was my grandad.he was born in 1895 and in 1914 sent to france with the 1st battalion, cameronians. this means he would have been awfully young when enlisted and must have been transferred almost straight away. is there anyway i can confirm this? and would he have volunteered or been ordered to transfer.

hope someone has an idea

cheers

steve
