Help please! I’ve spent a good part of today on line trying to find the service record for this man without success can anyone point me in the right direction? .........and also clarify the medal roll abbreviations?

His correct name is OSBORN vice ORSBORN per ADM 242.

Don, I'm sure ORSBORN is the correct spelling, I have a copy of his marrage certificate - I reckon a pen pusher must have thought the 'R' was an error!

Charles - Thanks I guess I thought they would be somewhere many miles from our part of 'Blighty' and not easy to access.

Drop the FAA Museum an E mail, may pay dividends, I belive the records will be in number order so it shouldn't be too much trouble.

Charles and H2 - Thanks again an email is on its way to FAAM!

Any thoughts on the medal roll? I think the first line is medals, the second his death, but have no idea what "otherwise Chas. Ed." means - an alias?

Copies of his service card or cards are at Kew in BT/377/7 filed in service number order.

His 1914/15 Star, British War and Victory Medal were issued to his widow. They were issued under Certificate 6379 / 1918
