Bill Poulton

Hi all

When I worked on the Newcastle Journal in the mid-70s there was a little gnome of a fella did court reporting for the weekly Gateshead Post. He was well past normal retiring age, had a writing style all his own, had been a WW1 pilot and had reputedly downed a number of EA. Unfortunately I never talked to him as much as I should have done (the old, old story), so I don't know what squadron he was in, but I gather it was on the western front. The only other thing I recall was him writing rather pointed comments on the BBC series Wings which was on at the time. Anyway, his name was Bill Poulton, and I wondered if anyone had anything on his service record etc.

thanks and cheers Martin B
