sotonmate Posted 14 October , 2006 Share Posted 14 October , 2006 Gareth Search at the National Archives will depend on whether he was an Officer or a Rating. They issue a leaflet for each. 5t is for Officers and 5n is for Ratings. This gives a step-by-step guide on how to find the war record and thus the postings and vessels served upon. It involves microfiche search and then leading onto Ledger-type entries for each person. You may be able to download the leaflets from the NA site.
