Terry Posted 9 November , 2003 Share Posted 9 November , 2003 Does anyone know the arrival date of the South Africans in France? I obviously know that they served with distinction at Delville Wood, July 1916, and that South African units earned the 1914-15 Star in the various campaigns in Africa, but how many SA units qualified for it in France? South Africans won two of the seven VCs in the Division. Pvt William Henry Faulds, 1st SA Regt, 18th July 1916, Delville Wood. L Cpl William Henry Hewitt, 2nd SA Regt, 20th Sept 1917, Ypres Aye Malcolm
