stiletto_33853 Posted 12 October , 2006 Share Posted 12 October , 2006 I see from the National Archives latest newsletter, that, following the introduction of online access in the reading rooms, these microfilms are to be given away, free, on a first come first served basis. These are the service records in WW1. Thought I would post this in case anyone has an interest, just need a scanner and away you go. Andy

Andy I recall, quite some while back, a campain to save MICs that were to be destroyed. I forgot where they went but couldn't these be placed with them. Having seen and used them they wouldn't take up much space. Jim
Jim Strawbridge Posted 17 October , 2006 Share Posted 17 October , 2006 I understand that the microfilms have been handed over to the Society of Genealogists. A good home for them I would think.
