I would be most grateful for your help in finding the London Gaz entry for Cpl R J Shepherd, MM. His number is 538443, RAMC. I've tried all combinations without success, needless to say 'the air is blue' at the moment.

Always put in the full stops : R. J. Shepherd (during 1917-1918 the initials also came after the surname, i.e. Shepherd, R. J.

I did try the options you suggested, but without success (Sod's Law seemed to be operating).

Hi Steve, I am researching Arthur John Beard MC who after WWI eventually ended up in the RAuxAF in WWII.

I have all his Gazettes but the one that eludes me is his Air Efficiency Award, now according to Chris Brooks he was number 90503 and he ended up as a Wing Commander in Balloons in WWII and his AEA was granted 26/01/1950.

Now I have tried every combination I can think of around that date with no success.

Despite Chris's book indicating the award I am stuck with the Gazettes on line just not showing it..any ideas?

I know it must be there!
