Chris Posted 11 October , 2006 Share Posted 11 October , 2006 Hi Need a bit of help please. Have been shown a picture of a 2/5th Lincs soldier by his son stood outside what we presume to be his billets in 1914. Originally in the 5th pre war the soldier in question went straight into the 2/5th on formation opting originally to stay in the Uk. On the wall of the house(billet) is a sign which says G (possibly C). N. GRAY ; COAL MERCHANT ; MAY COTTAGE. Given the movemnets of the soldier it is likely to be Luton or Dunstable,. Have tried a google search but to no avail so just wondered if anyone else could find this coal merchant. Cheers Chris
