Hullo,

I've been away for a while, settling in at Aberdeen University (I'm a trainee Economist). Can anyone tell me who was commanding XV Corps in December 1915, and what they can tell me about that person?

Thanks,

Frank Bartholomew

Hi Frank

According to Order of Battle, XV Corps (Egypt) was formed on 12th Jan. 1916 at Port Siad, under the Command of Lt.-Gen. H. S. Horne. The Corps then trans. to France. XV Corps (France) was formed on 20th April 1916 at Vignacourt, still under Horne.

Regards

Annette

[With ref to the 'Dardanelles 1915,' Kitchener took Horne along as an adviser on his visit in November]
