Remembered Today:

Wiltshire Regiment

I would really appreciate any help given. My Gr grandfather committed suicide in 1940. The inquest in the newspaper said he suffered from malaria. Of course not many of the remaining family knew much about him as they were young when he died, but one family member said that he served in India and there was a picture of him in his uniform. I have found William G butt on the Medal rolls index and it says he was a private in the Wiltshire Regiment. I am not sure if this is the William I am looking for. But where do I go from here? Thank you in advance!

Try the Regimental Museum at Salisbury on either www.thewardrobe.org.uk or phone on 01722 419419. They will ask you to commit all you know to paper to carry out any research.

Good Hunting

Cheers
