Does anybody have a picture of the airfield and an idea of its location in relation the village?

Here is something from Airfields and Airmen – Somme by Michael O'Connor, kindly sent to me by Dolphin. There is a lot more in O'Connor's book about Bertangles, if you're interested.

The Red Baron was buried there, Bertangles Cemetery, so you can find lots of photos of the area if you look on internet.

Thats the problem I cant find anything detailing exactly where the airfield was in relation to the village..

Does this book detail this?

Very good of you Egbert, I didnt realise that there were squadrons and so airfields based at either side of the village, I had always presumed the airfields were located on the south side..
