Remembered Today:

HMS DOUGLAS

I have seen photographs of various destroyers carring pennant numbers during WW1.

I would be interested to learn what number HMS DOUGLAS may have carried during the period August 1918 to April 1919.

Many thanks

Keith

Dittmar and Colledge ' British Warships 1914-1919' gives

D.09 ( 9/18)

G.00 (11/18)

F.A6(6/19)

She was a Scott Class Leader destroyer of 1800 tons, launched 8th June 1918 at Cammell Laird, armed with 5 x 4.7 inch guns, 1 x 3inch AA, 6 x 21 inch Torpedoes. She was eventually sold 20th March 1945 at Inverkeithing.

Lenton and Colledge ' Warships of World War II' gives Douglas as D90 in WW2.

Aye

Malcolm
