John

Entitlement to the Mercantile Marine Medal is gained by serving 6 months on a merchant ship at any time between 5 August 1914 and 11 November 1918,on at least one voyage through a danger zone.

Hi there,

This is my great grandfather who I have been trying to get some information on. Could you be a distant relative ?

Do you know where I can obtain a copy of his medals ? Some members of my family here in Australia march every year on Anzac Day and display medals belonging to WW1 & WW2 members of my family. We don't have any belonging to James Alford.I would appreciate any assistance.

Many thanks

Kathleen

Hi, this is a long shot, hope you are still on this forum?

I am a Great Grandson of James Alford and come across your post during my family research.

Q. How did you come across his medal?

Q. How did you get his medical records?

Q. Do you still have his Medal?

Q. Do you have any more info on him?

Stay Safe & Have Fun
