Remembered Today:

mic records

Recommended Posts

I have obtained a copy of my late father's mic record and have been into the information page where it details what the relevant areas denote but on my father's mic the following appears which I am having trouble indentifying (as of course some of the writing is illegible).

It appears in the remarks box as follows:

???(1743-KR) 7969/???

At the very bottom right hand corner the number 7969/??? appears again

Can anybody help?

Cannot see any attachment, but it could be this.

KR 1743: "Medals which, at the end of 10 years, still remain

unclaimed, will be sent to the India Office (if granted for Indian Service),

or to the deputy director of ordnance stores, Royal Dockyard (Medal

Branch), Woolwich (if granted for other service) to be broken up."
