wilkokcl Posted 1 October , 2006 Share Posted 1 October , 2006 I know how you feel, lots of scanning effort and no appreciation/commentary on this time consuming work. I know exactly how you must feel! Sadly I suspect if you had posted the same pictures as British photos you had substantial replies and recognition. As they are of German origin the interest here in this forum fades quickly - consequences? = yes, at least on my side Sorry! I've been very interested in this thread and appreciate you taking the time to post the pictures here. I meant to post a reply.....but never quite got round to it. Fascinating pics and a great glimpse of what life was really like for those men. Mark

egbert Posted 2 October , 2006 Share Posted 2 October , 2006 I was just contacted by our German friend Friedhelm who cannot post for technical reasons here. He conveys from the regimental history in his possession that: "Plotycza was alternating rear area location for one of the Battalions during the battles at River Stypa, Nov 1915 till June 1916. The village/town was also seat of Rgt HQ. With respect to the depicted Gentlemen: the regimental history only mentioned Major Schaumann (not Schumann) and Leutnant Stephan the regimental adjutant"
