Dragon Posted 29 September , 2006 Share Posted 29 September , 2006 I’d like to draw people’s attention to Graeme’s post number 534 in his Drill Halls thread. http://1914-1918.invisionzone.com/forums/i...st&p=524498 This is very much a work in progress. We are very appreciative of the help given so far by a wide range of people and we hope that the site will encourage further participation. Thank you to the friends who have sent support and encouragement. Gwyn drillhalls.org
Clive Maier Posted 29 September , 2006 Share Posted 29 September , 2006 Just a few years ago, a work like this would have been lodged as hardcopy in a local library and would have remained almost unknown. Now thanks to web publishing and the reach of the forum - and a lot of hard work behind the scenes - we have what can become the definitive resource. And it can be on every researcher's desktop worldwide. Great stuff.
Dragon Posted 1 October , 2006 Author Share Posted 1 October , 2006 Thank you, Clive. One of the intentions of the Drill Halls site was that it should be organic and partially participative in a way that a book can never be. There is, of course, a place for both. Incidentally, we have uploaded another county this weekend and some additional material. Gwyn
