guernseyliz Posted 21 September , 2006 Share Posted 21 September , 2006 Hi. Does anyone have any info about the French seaplane base that was here in Guernsey fom 1917 to early 1919? It formed the mid point between the ones at Treguier and Cherbourg, and was manned and equipped from Cherbourg. Many thanks liz
MikeW Posted 22 September , 2006 Share Posted 22 September , 2006 Liz, you need to get hold of a copy of L'Aviation Maritime Francaise Pendent La Grande Guerre. Published by Ardhan and written by Lucien Morareau, Rpbert Feuilloy, Jean-Louis Courtinat, Thierry Le Roy and Jean-Paul Rossignol. This superb French language work covers French Naval aviation in WW1 and certainly mentions and illustrates the presence at Guernsey. I got my copy from Ian Allen in the UK but it can be purchased directly from Ardhan in France. Mike
