Remembered Today:

Gotha G.IX

I'm searching for the technical specifications of the Gotha G.IX.

After the first world war Belgium recieved the Gotha G.IX as spoils of war.

Who can help me find the technical specifications (crew, purpose, max speed, service ceiling, weight, weapons, range, span, lenght, height,...) of this plane?

There doesn't seem to be much information around concerning the Gotha G.IX. Only one or two of the type were built, and then by LVG, not the Gotha company, before the Armistice. It was intended to be a night bomber equipped with two 245hp Maybach Mb IV engines.

From the photograph below, it looks a bit like the Gotha G.VIII, with the same short nose and Mb IV engines. The G.VIII's vital statistics were: span 21.73m; length 9.79m; height 3.51m; area 79 sq m; empty weight 2676 kg; loaded weight 3706 kg; speed 180 km/hr. I suppose that the G.IX would have been fairly similar, but I have no authoritative reference.

That's all I can find. I hope that it's useful.
