I think it might be from John Bunyan's "Pilgrim's Progress"

I was in the cathedral at Ypres for a wedding in August, and during a rather wordy bit of the ceremony I was looking around and saw that section of "Pilgim's Progress" on a British memorial on one of the pillars near to where I was sitting. The quotation on the memorial was a bit longer than Kate's quote. Here's the other part, which I found very moving.
