Guest Sham Posted 1 September , 2006 Share Posted 1 September , 2006 Hi i am currently trying to research a British war medal that was given to my Husbands Grandfather. The only details i have are a name on the medal and an old photo and that my husbands grandfather came to this country from India, i understand that he was in the merchant Navy but have no proof of this.I have tried to search online but with no luck. His Name is :NoorAllum Fatheydeen I would be very grateful if anyone could give me ideas on where i need to look. Many thanks
Coldstreamer Posted 1 September , 2006 Share Posted 1 September , 2006 as said on your other post, the National archives in Kew are your best bet
Ray Tomlinson Posted 8 September , 2006 Share Posted 8 September , 2006 Have a look at my post in answer to Merchant Navy Records Help - there can't be many merchant seamen sharing a name such as that - the name I was looking for was "Roberts" his final ship sailed with five people of that name.
