I couldn't get a better resolution with the whole photo I'm afraid!! For some reason I just can't get it any sharper!

I think this could be a South Wales Borderers Badge.

Just looking through the collection of cap badges from my Great-Grandfather, it doesn't look like the South Wales Borderers badge. The Borderers badge has a gap between the sphinx and the top of the wreath, whereas in your photo it appears to be joined. I have a badge here that look more likely:

The Princess of Wales's own Yorkshire

From that pic , its the biggest badge I have ever seen ! (other than scots regiments) Could you post the rest of the pic ? "MO"

If you can give us his name it might me unusual enough to find his Medal Information Card thereby narrowing the search down to two or three regiments.
