chaz Posted 23 August , 2006 Share Posted 23 August , 2006 Have been rooting through a few boxes, came across a sepia p/c of a soldier. from checking cap badges I say a Fusilier regt. on the front embossed J.E Hunt & son, 185 Portobello rdw (presume photographer) on the back is written in pencil 14598. using sdgw there is a possibility that it is 14598 Private Harry Wilson 17th Batallion Lancashire Fusiliers Died Home 10/08/15 Born Rochdale Lancs Enlisted Rochdale. I know its only a possibility but anyone have other pics of him or know of his family. can then decide what to do with it.

eltoro1960 Posted 27 November , 2006 Share Posted 27 November , 2006 Hi I don't think the badge is a the Lancashire Fusiliers, I think it might be the Royal Fusiliers. Do be aware that the pencilled number may well be the photographers reference number. I doubt someone would only write their service number on a personal photo.
