Guest AVE Posted 6 August , 2006 Share Posted 6 August , 2006 Could anyone help please, I am researching my Grandfathers service in WW1. I have his attestation dated 21.June 1916, Stamped "London Recruiting office Whitehall" and also four letters from him, one of which is dated 21.4.18, telling my G'Mother of his change of number from 233374 to 144011 Pte. F. Earthy A Coy 24 Batt MGC BEF. I have managed to find the war diaries for the MGC but cannot trace his movements in the R.B. or details from joining up to joining the MGC. If anyone can help I and most of my relatives would be very grateful

Guest AVE Posted 9 August , 2006 Share Posted 9 August , 2006 Many thanks "Private Parts", I tried to send him a private message but because his "in" box was full the message was returned. I will try again another time. I am new to this site so am still trying to find my way around!
