joseph Posted 30 July , 2006 Share Posted 30 July , 2006 Phil, Could be, DRF & PF. Determination Range Finding and Predicted Fire. System for bringing a gun into action without any preliminary ranging and achieving an element of surprise. Maybe one of the gunnery chaps could expand, it’s to do with judging the line, angle of sight and the range of the target. Regards Charles
PhilN Posted 30 July , 2006 Author Share Posted 30 July , 2006 Thanks Terry & Charles I had a look at the site you mentioned Terry and I am wondering wether he might have been stationed on a coastal battery at that date, ie Dist East E.L.R.A. could that be East Licolnshire? as I believe he came from that area. Would I be right in thinking that he stayed in the UK? Thanks Phil
