Thanks for the info Bob.

My brother was given the prop about 26 years ago by an ex RFC pilot. We always wondered what it was off.

Cheers

Drawing No AB 694 tells us that this was a four-blade left handed prop for the Rolls Royce Eagle 6, 7 or 8 Engine - obviously 8 in this case - for the Handley page 0/400. It was number 87 of production group 446. AB stands for Air Board (later Minstry).

Best wishes,

Grovetown.

Bob

he keeps it in his old room at our mums!!

He bought her an extra long feather duster so she could reach the tips!!

Ever the thoughtful son!!

But seriously....

Unfortunately it's only the centre bit, the rest was cut off when the old chap brought it back as a souvenir. I was up there the other week so I grabbed a piccy .

Thanks for the info Grovetown. We've looked at it over the years with no idea of what it all meant other than the Roll Royce bit.

Thanks very much chaps.

I'll e-mither my bro a link to this thread so he can have a mooch.

thanks again chaps

all the best

Baz
