Kut POWs and MiDs

Greetings - my maiden posting.

I am interested in Indian POWs taken by the Turks after the fall of Kut. While I have the list of POWs, and have done some cross-checking with CWGC and other sources on these men, I am having a hard time finding the order(s) for mentions in dispatches for them.

Help a newbie, please!

Hi Ed,

I have been trying to establish for some time if my great grandfather was taken prisoner at Kut or if he was taken in other operations in Mespot. Any leads i have come across have pointed me in the direction of Kut. He was a territorial soldier serving with the 2/4th Devonshires in india and was posted to Mespot Aug 1915. The 2/4th Devons did not deploy untill 1917. I found an entry in the war diary of 2nd Royal West Kents stating they received a draft of 150 men from the 2/4th Devons and other Territorial Battalions.

Does your list include British Prisoners? if so is 3215 Pte J Perham included.

wishfull thinking i know, one can only ask.

Many thanks

Steve
