wilkokcl Posted 8 July , 2006 Share Posted 8 July , 2006 Working away from home this week in the small village of Little Compton, Gloucestershire I had a look at the war memorial in the local church. I know nothing more than what's recorded on the memorial but it may be of use to someone to state the details here. I'm also back there next week so can take photographs if anyone is interested. It must have been an even smaller village back in 1914 and I assume the loss of these men must have been sorely felt. ianshuter Posted 2 April , 2023 Share Posted 2 April , 2023 I am transcribing that War Memorial at the moment - have researched four of the men so far, should be finished by Tuesday. The Church (St, Denys) is unusual (see photo) https://www.swfhs.org.uk/index.php/war-memorial-transcriptions/war-memorial-transcritions-l-r/little-compton-wm
