Owen D Posted 4 July , 2006 Share Posted 4 July , 2006 Ponsonby is purely Grenadiers. That is a must. Headlam is Guards Div so will give you bigger picture. Save up and get that one another time.

Steven Broomfield Posted 4 July , 2006 Share Posted 4 July , 2006 Owen - is Ponsonby THAT good? I have Headlam, and the Coldstream, Irish and Welsh histories (but not Scots). I'd sort of like to complete the set, but not seen an original Ponsonby for a while (don't want reprints). Lot os dosh, I guess, so need to know if it really is THAT good. Owen D Posted 4 July , 2006 Share Posted 4 July , 2006 I would say it is. Narative taken from War Diaries but enhanced by further info & detail. The odd essay in there by officers. Full officer lists for each battalion for each chapter. Full Roll of the Fallen, Awards & Decorations. Also list of those commisioned from the ranks and Regt they went to. Good maps etc. If you want a sample chapter PM me.
