Guest geoff501 Posted 1 July , 2006 Share Posted 1 July , 2006 Todays Birmingham Post has a feature on Black Country artist Robery Perry. An exhibition, Remembering The Somme, is on display at Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery. http://icbirmingham.icnetwork.co.uk/birmin...#story_continue The artist also has a website, with a few samples of work of trench and wood scenes and also paintings of tunnels, rather unusual. http://www.robertperry-artist.co.uk And a feature on Terry Carter's The Birmingham Pals was also in todays issue. gporta Posted 1 July , 2006 Share Posted 1 July , 2006 Thanks for the links, Geoff I particularly liked the paintings/drawings of the illuminated trenches at night. Gloria

Martin Brown Posted 11 July , 2006 Share Posted 11 July , 2006 If you can get to this exhibition I thoroughly recommend seeing it. The reproductions of his work I have seen just do not do justice to the work but the nocturnes are simply stunning. Also of note are the small jewel like landscapes that capture the bleakness of the picard landscape.
