Todays Birmingham Post has a feature on Black Country artist Robery Perry. An exhibition, Remembering The Somme, is on display at Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery.

The artist also has a website, with a few samples of work of trench and wood scenes and also paintings of

tunnels, rather unusual.

And a feature on Terry Carter's The Birmingham Pals was also in todays issue.

Thanks for the links, Geoff

I particularly liked the paintings/drawings of the illuminated trenches at night.

If you can get to this exhibition I thoroughly recommend seeing it. The reproductions of his work I have seen just do not do justice to the work but the nocturnes are simply stunning. Also of note are the small jewel like landscapes that capture the bleakness of the picard landscape.
