Roxy Posted 1 July , 2006 Share Posted 1 July , 2006 A story in today's Daily Telegraph (Weekend section): This book, published by an unknown author of D Coy, 12 East Surrey Regt, was mentioned in today's paper. The author is: "...one of 14 privates wounded at Hollebeke on August 5, 1917: J W Carter F Glover J H Cole H J Gardiner H Gibbs N Haynes G Kirkby A Manley A Manville J Millichamp H M Muspratt S Poulter A Sargent and A Skinner. The Bodleian would be grateful for information about these men and the identity of the author. the diarsit would have been sent home after the field hospital." If the Pals can't solve this then no-one can. Roxy Sorry, I couldn't find a link to the DT website.

Roxy Posted 1 July , 2006 Author Share Posted 1 July , 2006 Andrew, A very good point - well done Bepo. I wasn't sure where would be best to search for this. The Mods could possibly add this to that thread. I still think that if anyone is going to provide the desired information then it is likely to be from this forum.
