War Art - propaganda, record or memorial

For details see the WFA website.

The talk is being given by David Hopkins who was responsible for the recent art exhibition at IWMN. David will be known to a number of north westerners as the ex-curator of the Museum of the Manchesters.

The exhibition was excellent (not least for the company in which I viewed it - Dragon, Simon Bull and Mrs Bull) and knowing IWMN's reputation for the contraversial, I am looking forward to David's spin on the subject.

Can anyone go, John? Without being pestered to join the WFA? Because my views haven't changed......

Yes to question 1 and, to question 2, hopefully.

The branch welcomes visitors.

I am not going to embarrass anyone by detailing the incident that I think you refer to - but the verbal hatchet that you jammed in the person's chest still makes me chuckle. It wasnt actually a WFA meeting, though.

WFA site back up but talk is on 14 July at, as usual, The Armoury, Greek Street, Stockport. Talk will start 8pm prompt.

£2.50 entrance. Bar open before & after.

David's talk was to have been on 22/Manchester but I gather the change in subject reflects his change of job.
