andy1400 Posted 26 June , 2006 Share Posted 26 June , 2006 Would anyone be able to tell me what HMS Cornwall was doing from around August 1917 until the wars end. I have a recently discovered relative who served on her in this period up until 1919. Thanks Andy

historydavid Posted 26 June , 2006 Share Posted 26 June , 2006 It appears that her duties in this period, and before, were convoys, convoys , convoys. On 16th January 1917 she was seen escorting a convoy near the Cape of Good Hope, South Africa by Karl Nerger, captain of the German raider Wolf. In September 1917 completed a refit and joined the North American Station for Atlantic convoy escort. Best wishes David
