There is a card index at Kew, which hasn't been digitised. You could also look in the ADM 12 A&B indexes for 1915 looking for his name or if you don't find it for Newcastle, which would be written in red. If you are lucky, that will lead you to an ADM 137 file and a report on what he was MID for - far better than your chances of finding precise details for an army MID! It was rare for an incident to only involve 1 rating and usually decorations were awarded too, hence a report; a lisrt of names were submitted and each name usually has the decision written by it.
