reilly Posted 7 June , 2006 Share Posted 7 June , 2006 Hi In regard to the following soldier MIC records: Joseph.W.Wicks - Hampshire Regiment - Pte 27990. Can anyone assist me in identifying which Hampshire battalion he would have served in? Does the service number provide any clues? Also any tips on finding out more about the Hampshire Regiments would be appreciated. Thanks Brian
ajsmith Posted 7 June , 2006 Share Posted 7 June , 2006 Hi Brian you could post the MIC so people can look at it. It often provides at least some clue as to battalion. As you can see from this link there's quite a few to choose from! This site can be helpful with some useful links. In my experience (relatively small) the soldiers number is of little help, but forumites who know this regiment well may think differently. good luck
