Remembered Today:

Pte. Walter Blaise

6th Shropshires

Recommended Posts

Hi

18666 Pte. Walter Blaise of the King's Shropshire L.I. is recorded in SD as being killed in Action on 30-7-16 with the 7th Battalion King's Shropshire L.I. but according to his medal roll he was 7th K.S.L.I. then attached to 19th King's Liverpool Regt., so he must have been killed with the 19/K.L.I., this is backed up by the fact that the 7/K.S.L.I. were at rest Meaulte.

Could anyone tell me want the 19/K.L.I. were doing on the 30-7-16.

Also I failed to find him on C.W.G.C., I have looked using different spellings of the name. If any Pal as come across him I would be very greatful to hear from you.

Thanks

Annette

19TH Kings Liverpools were on left of 89th brigades attack towards Arrow Head Copse at 4-45am on July 30th.

War diary reads objectives reached but with heavy losses.

Bob.
