Mine Clearance Service

:) Hello,

Can anyone tell me where the Mine Clearance Badge was worn? Do you have any photo's of it being worn? When was it introduced? I would also be very interested in seeing a photo or Scan of an original badge [Front and back]. I have one, which I am fairly sure is original. I've tried a couple of Google searches, but these just through up piles of copy badges and pages on all sorts of mine clearance.

Thanks for looking,

Stewart

MCS was formed in February 1919 each of the 26 countries had a "Piece" of sea to clear the RN had 40,000 square miles by far the largest. The badge was worn on the right cuff.

Hope this helps no photos though.

Regards Charles

Hello,

Thank you Charles, that has gone some way to answering my questions. I am still keen to see the badge in use and to see an original example of the badge. Someone must have one.

Regards,

Stewart
