R.N.R. Trawler section Service in Russia WW1?

Sorry posted twice by mistake.

I recently picked up WW1 14/15 Star medal trio in original boxes.With the medals arrive a copy of the R.N.R. Service record to Allan Sidney Hutchings of Ammanford,South Wales.Born 26th March 1895.Rating 2H.D. RNR Service No SD 2309,

Mystery starts with caption "Ex R.N.D. WL 1007 as of 12/5/15 - 30/6/15, character V.G.".

Clause," Transferred to Trawler Section R.N.R. from 1st Oct 1916"

Then service record is as follows,

Vic 1 from C.R. 30/6/15.

Iphigenia from HJ or HT Hibernia II 7/3/16 - 21/10/16.

Then Halcyon II (St Cyz) 22/10/16 - 31/12/16.

Then Vindictive over Iphigenia 1/1/17 - 31/10/17.

Then Thalia 1/11/17 - 3/1/18.

Then Glory II (St Cyz) 4/1/18 - 10/11/18.

Then Victory 11/11/18 - 21/4/19.

Awarded Prize Money of £33 15 Shillings in 3 installments between 1920 and August 1923. and notation in remarks of "1916,1917,Chevrons awarded.

HMS Iphigenia was depot ship in North Russia 1915/16 and depot ship 1917 but what were the R.N.R trawler section doing up there.Also why does WL 1007 his number in RND not appear on his 1914/15 Star.Any info on any of above much appreciated.Regards to all forumn members Bob Clayton.
