bart592 Posted 29 May , 2006 Share Posted 29 May , 2006 Hi All Can anybody tell me the main differences in the Royal Navy between Able Seamen and Leading Seamen or do you become one after so many years of service Regards Bart
joseph Posted 29 May , 2006 Share Posted 29 May , 2006 Bart, Leading Seaman was the equivalent (but subordinate to) a corporal in the army and the first NCO in the RN. From A.B. needs to have served at least two years as an A.B. one of which must have been at sea. Recommended for advancement by the Captain of his last seagoing ship. Passed qualifying examination.
