museumtom Posted 1 November , 2006 Author Share Posted 1 November , 2006 Greta stuff guys and gals. I heard back from three dealers from the Dublin fairs and basically they said lots of words but in the heel of the hunt I have no names from their items for sale to post. However I will be at the fairs and will post whatever names of available awards they allow me on this page. Regards. Tom.

museumtom Posted 3 November , 2006 Author Share Posted 3 November , 2006 I understand it is very difficult for some people to get their head around the idea of adding the names they have on the awards in their posession. Its all in a good cause. Remember you do not need to say what the award is (that way it is easier to list a name). You need not even give the awardees forst name. You need not list his/her unit, number of any other information unless you want to and feel good about it. This is not a 'medals/plaques/awards for sale' posting. It does not mean the award is for sale nor does it mean the award is not for sale it just means that an award exists for a person who did their bit in ww1. I admire and applaud everyone who has taken the step to list the awards in their posession on this page. Thanks again and well done Guys and Gals. Well done!! P.S.; I am still waiting for even one of the dealers from the Dublin fairs to list something. C'mon guys, break the mold. Ye are all very secretive, we only want the first initial and the second name. Regards. Tom

museumtom Posted 11 November , 2006 Author Share Posted 11 November , 2006 Good man Charlie!! now one of my own to add to the list Harry Hamley Now then guys and gals, I went to the fair in Dublin today. There were very few ww1 medals for sale and no death plaques. I did not get any dealers to volunteer the names on their plaques/awards/certificates or medals for sale for this post. Perhaps that is the nature of the (dealers) beast. I will keep trying. Keep up the good work guys and gals and keep those names coming in. Kind regards. Tom.
