Hi there,

Can someone clear up a query I have?

On the GW Forum under unit types here:

http://www.1914-1918.net/fieldambulances.htm

There is a reference to the 2nd/1st (WR) FA but no reference to the 1st/2nd (WR) FA. Is this an error? Can someone advise me on what unit I should be looking at so that I know I have the right one.

Many thanks,

Hello,

In responce to your query:

There is a reference to the 2nd/1st (WR) FA but no reference to the 1st/2nd (WR) FA. Is this an error? Can someone advise me on what unit I should be looking at so that I know I have the right one.

The 1/1, 1/2 and 1/3 W R Field Ambulance units were part of the 49th Division (1st W R Division) and the 2/1, 2/2 and 2/3 W R Field Ambulance units were part of the 62nd Division (2nd W R Division). In both cases 1 and 2 W R Field Ambulance units were based in Leeds, whilst the 3 W R Field Ambulance was based in Sheffield. Hope this helps.

Regards

Ron Hartley
