philary Posted 20 May , 2006 Share Posted 20 May , 2006 Hello Everyone I've been quiet for a few months, however I hve discovered another Great Uncle who served (and survived) the Great War. Having downloaded his MIC Card, although a territorial, he did not serve abroad. I have attached a copy of his MIC and wondered if anyone had any details about him or the regiment. As he lived and worked in Bristol he would have been with the territorials there. (His brother Austin Sutton was a territorial but was with the RFA. I have researched him thoroughly and have all his documents) Thanks for any helpGS_MIC.doc
Promenade Posted 20 May , 2006 Share Posted 20 May , 2006 Sutton served with 2/6 Glos Regt. He enlisted 30/12/14 and was discharged to pension on 12/3/17 as a result of being wounded in September 1916. He received Silver War Badge No 202868. As you say he lived in Bristol. philary Posted 20 May , 2006 Author Share Posted 20 May , 2006 Thank you Promenade Is the information readily availble on-line or will I have to go to kew for his service record or is it in a regimental history? This is really helpful Hilary
Promenade Posted 20 May , 2006 Share Posted 20 May , 2006 Hilary, Afraid you will have to go to the NA to find out whether his papers survive. Promenade
