Remembered Today:

Cause of discharge

I wonder if anyone can help with interpreting the cause of discharge on a Silver war badge medal card.

The card gives date of enlistment as 16-2-15 and date of discharge as 14-1-18.

The cause of discharge is given as PS 92 (XVI) KR S.A.D. 29-19.

Does anyone know what this Kings Regulation means? Does S.A.D. stand for "shot at dawn" possibly?

Kind regards,

Kevin.

If a man was discharged from the service and thereby awarded the SWB, he could hardly have been executed, could he?

 Might have a been really bad shots in the firing squad! (3 failed attempts at execution mean you're a free man doesnt it (or was that another century???).

Dave. :P
