Guest Simon Bull Posted 20 May , 2006 Share Posted 20 May , 2006 Des - have I imagined it or did you tell us you took up painting when you gave up the evil weed, in order to help yourself suppress the craving? If so have you been successful (ie in giving up smoking)?
FAAAEd Posted 20 May , 2006 Share Posted 20 May , 2006 Not as good as Tonys pic but here's another one of Vimy Glyn That brings back memories. A few years ago, on the return trip through France at the end of a holiday near Hyères the coach driver having time to spare diverted to the Vimy Ridge site, which was most welcome by myself but not so much by the mrs. Seeing is believing as they say, and I now understand what little distance separated the opposing trenches. That much is still cordoned-off with sheep still blowing themselves up occasionally as they wander round such parts is, perhaps, food for though for those who go searching the old battlefields for unexploded munitions.
