Steve Bramley Posted 10 May , 2006 Share Posted 10 May , 2006 The 46th Division were in the Noeux-les-Mines area on the 3rd March 1918, the 1/5th Lincolns taking over trenches in the Cambrin North sector on the 4th. I assume the Field Ambulance would have been in the same area, but I do not know exactly where. Hope this helps a little, Steve
BJanman Posted 10 May , 2006 Share Posted 10 May , 2006 The 1st North Midlands Field Ambulance served with the 137 (Staffs) Brigade of the 46th Divison. I have them recorded as a Territorial Force Unit so he would have been in the Territoral Force. The Field Ambulance would have been situated about 400 metres behind the Regimental Aid Post, and that would have been a few metres behind the front lines. I hope this helps a little too.
